The creatinine level is down .4 to 4.4--- which is better.
But Dr. F*ucknut seems to be writing a study paper on this type of kidney disease for a University and would "love to speak with your wife about doing a biopsy for that... and for your health Jef."
Glad the doc's priorities are strait.
I'm off to research alternative treatment options.
I'm really to the point where I have stopped giving a shit about diet and kidneys and creatinine. I will do all I can to support Jef through this never ending sea of b.s., but it is not going to rule my life or influence my state of mind any more. I have stayed amazingly positive today. And I chalk it all up to just not caring. Of course I care about Jef- I don't mean it that way. I care for him more than anything.
But I can't continue to ride this roller coaster or it will wind up killing ME.

Well the good news is that the level is down. Did he say whether he thought that trend might continue?? If the diet and whatever meds are working, that is reason enough to keep going. As far as his paper, well he can go screw himself. A biopsy is something to be done only when medically necessary, not just so he can make himself famous! What an ass. If his levels continue in that direction that would prove that a biopsy isn't necessary.
supermom pegged that one.."what an ass"!!! Seriously, are diet and meds as aggressive as they want to be with this thing? Is his decrease considered significant?
i swear, i may have to hop in the new Kermie (with my pocket knife) and take care of that doctor. I'll give HIM a biopsy!
There are various treatment options, doc just doesn't want to give in until he gets his biopsy. They could try diff't things without harm, but he wont because he feels like he should be allowed to biopsy. He didn't say anything about it con't down, but statistically it will, esp if it was caused by meds in the 1st place. It was 7.8 the 1st draw back in April, so we're making headway.
Better is good. I agree with Supermom... will your insurance pay for second opinions?
They might pay for a 2nd opinion, but they definately dont pay if I kick the doc's ass and need stiches.
Ok yeah, doc can go screw himself. He wants the biopsy because he's writing a paper?? WTF?? I agree that maybe a second opinion is in order. And yes, I'm pretty sure the creatinine level could continue to go down, maybe not all the way back to normal but 4.4 is way better than 7.8. To me that would indicate that maybe doing the biopsy isn't necessary, it's improving, not getting worse.
amen to that, sister. doc can go play doctor on someone else. RaJen
