Jef's kidney function recheck was today. His creatinine level is ok and holding steady at 4.4. However, he informed me today that his kidney function is only at 15%, and should be at 80% or better.
A transplant is in the future- hopefully not the near future. Second opinions are in the works ASAP. Perhaps I shall relent and, after some other doc's opinion, I might say what the hell and go for that biopsy.
Thanks to B and Tracey for listening to me whine today- a lot... (That's thanks a lot and whine a lot!).
B- For some reason I keep getting that Chumbawumba song in my head- "I get knocked down, but I get up again".

Wax Poetic:
"Crossing the vast ocean alone am I. A place of transition I come to for rest. Alone am I on this journey- inner, outer, and other-worldly. Second thoughts of continuance mar my soul. To go forward only means more pain and more to overcome. I journey alone with my friends. Inner dialogue is there to keep me company, not keep me sane. I accept where the travels will lead, no matter the storms. I am safe in my own arms as I travel along with my beloved."

oh my own death migh slow me down some, but i already have the plans to be a mean-assed ghost.
Well, it's good that the creatinine level isn't going up but not so good at the kidney function. I hope that you get better news with a second opinion or at least help finding a better path. My thoughts are with you all.
I'm so sorry... that sucks beyind sucking. I hope a second opinion offers better news. Hugs.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I will keep Big J and your family in my prayers...
I pray his function goes up and he does not need a transplant in the future...
